Morgan Finn - Game Designer

Morgan Finn
Game Designer
University of Advancing Technology - Student
September 2022 - May 2025
During my time at University of Advancing Technology, I learned the fundamentals of Game Design. I made board games and video games with the full Game Production Pipeline, learned how to use multiple engines and software, and produced multiple levels. I also participated in Game Jams, learned the basics of coding and scripting, worked in multiple teams to produce games, and discovered my passion for Level Design.
MotionMediaLab - Contract Level Designer
April 2025 - May 2025
During the month I worked at MotionMediaLab, I worked as their level designer. I papermapped level designs for the entirety of the first world of their game, helped to flesh out narrative elements in their story, and created quests in accordance to the story.
About Me
Video games have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. A fond memory I have is of my dad taking me to Walmart after my eye surgery to pick up a copy of LEGO Indiana Jones for the DS when I was around 5 years old. More memories I have are playing Wii Board Game Island with my family, waking up at 5am to play the Call of Duty: Ghosts campaign over and over before school, and playing Halo Reach’s sandbox mode in my friend’s basement for hours on end. Whether it be games on the DS, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 4, Switch, or PC, video games have always brought me comfort and enjoyment.

It wasn’t until after I took a gap year out of high school that I discovered University of Advancing Technology, as well as the Game Design degree they were offering. I had never considered making video games beforehand, but the career path made complete sense. Ever since starting, I haven’t looked back.

I want to make games that give people enjoyment and comfort. Playing a video game is like a blend between reading a book, watching a movie, and observing an art piece. Since video games bring the best of all worlds, they allow players to be more interactive with the stories they decide to participate in, which leaves them with experiences they’ll never forget. I want to give players unique and memorable experiences, similar to the ones I’ve experienced myself.
